WORK PROFILE :

 

Objective of the Department:      

     The objectives of the Soil Conservation Department are to conserve the land from Soil erosion

specially on:

  • To conserve land from soil erosion.
  • Reclamation of paddy field and use of degraded land.
  • Creation/Development of water harvesting structure.
  • Land development and moisture conservation.
  • Protection of riverine land.
  • Creation of plantation programme.

 

Function of the Department:

  • Soil & water conservation through efficient use of natural resources.
  • Increase of agricultural production through appropriate implementation of conservation practices.
  • Increase in size of land holding among farmers through land reclamations and development programmes.
  • Storing and distribution of surface water to agricultural field.
  • Implementation of protective afforestation programme for maintaining ecological balance and global warming.
