Objective of the Department:
The objectives of the Soil Conservation Department are to conserve the land from Soil erosion
specially on:
- To conserve land from soil erosion.
- Reclamation of paddy field and use of degraded land.
- Creation/Development of water harvesting structure.
- Land development and moisture conservation.
- Protection of riverine land.
- Creation of plantation programme.
Function of the Department:
- Soil & water conservation through efficient use of natural resources.
- Increase of agricultural production through appropriate implementation of conservation practices.
- Increase in size of land holding among farmers through land reclamations and development programmes.
- Storing and distribution of surface water to agricultural field.
- Implementation of protective afforestation programme for maintaining ecological balance and global warming.
