Among all the departments under Assam State Government, Public Health Engineering Department is one of the foremost department working in the development sector. Health is Wealth’ is a famous saying that refers to the importance of health to us and reveals that health is wealth. If we are not healthy, wealth means nothing to us. So, our health is a real wealth, we should always try to be healthy. Maintaining a sound health in Rural Areas is a real challenge among the rural community as there is lack of facilities of safe drinking water as well as sanitation facilities. The Public Health Engineering Department is entrusted with the responsibility of providing safe water supply and sanitation facilities in rural areas. The vision of the Public Health Engineering Department is to provide every household in rural areas safe drinking water through House Connection or Street Tap Point and provide sanitation by constructing  Individual House Hold Latrine.
